  • Roman Opanasevych

    Operations Director, Seattle, WA

    There is nothing in Safehome that Roman’s care hasn’t touched. In addition to managing Safehome’s day-to-day operations, Roman has contributed to the construction of the Safehome building, community relations, and program development. His favorite way to contribute, however, is through making music with the kids.

  • Yana Opanasevych

    Executive Director, Seattle, WA

    Yana was inspired to start Safehome after traveling to Mocorito and hearing the desire from the locals in 2015. Yana is passionate about childhood education and mental health. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and a Master of Science degree in Educational Psychology in hopes of using her knowledge and expertise to serve underprivileged communities.

  • Heriberto Sanchez Luque

    General Contractor, Guamuchil, Sinaloa

    Heriberto’s construction company: HI-TECH built a large portion of the Safehome house in Mocorito. Heriberto is a man with big dreams. He is passionate about enriching the lives of the people of Sinaloa. He is the author of “El Hombre que debo Ser” and creator of the podcast “The Seeds you Sow”. He also serves as a University professor in “Leadership and Negotiation Skills” and a worship band leader at his local church.

  • Melody Mirelle Rojo Rodiguez

    Community Engagement Manager, Mocorito, MX

    Melody was born and raised in Mocorito. She is passionate about enriching the lives of children in her hometown. Melody loves learning and desires to instill that passion into the children she works with. She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with the intention of serving the children of Mocorito.

  • Christina Bavilacqua

    Communications Director, Seattle, WA

    Christina has been working with Safehome since its founding in 2015. Currently, Christina works in graphic design. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Digital Design and Nonprofit and Public Administration from Seattle University. Her volunteer experience includes mentoring youth groups in graphic design and a heart and passion to serve individuals with special needs.
